Rhwyfo MYC Rowing celebrated it’s 15th birthday with members old and new on Saturday 27th August 2016. The Madog Yacht Club held their Bank Holiday Regatta Fun day with games, stalls and bouncy castles all raising funds for the fantastic work the RNLI do round the year.
9 Celtics from clubs across North Wales set off from Borth y Gest harbour in a race to send their pilot to collect a barrel from the first Portmeirion beach. The first boat, was the only one to navigate the channel and actually land on the beach, as opposed to hitting a sandbank and then trying to drown their pilots. A blend of strong rowing, great coxing, a speedy pilot and just a whisper of cheating meant that Fleetwing emerged the winning crew.

The Pilot Race was followed by a barbecue, the presentation and a drink or three….here’s to the next 15 years!
